Our client is a leading Canadian-based services group, providing solutions for penchant plans, foundations, endowments, financial institutions and other institutional investors worldwide. With principal operations in Asia, Canada and the United States, the company also handles wealth management and retirement products. Combining the environment of a boutique investment firm with global resources, the company went public in 1999.

Challenge

Stuck with an old, outdated public-facing website, the client came to the Ameex team with the knowledge that the architectural issues and lack of search/navigation functionality they were facing were no longer acceptable. The company's website at the time also lacked optimization for mobile devices, nor was it designed with search engine optimization (SEO) in mind. Built on version 8 of the Ektron CMS platform, the website needed more than just a simple facelift-it required true overhauling.

Solution

Ameex worked with their Asset Management's three-tier hosting infrastructure to install and configure base versions of Ektron 9 in the development, staging and production environments. Through a series of interviews, the Ameex team was able to identify client's brand standards and preferred design aesthetics. A number of design comps were created to support desktop/laptop environments as well as mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. CMS templates, as well as a custom Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) utility for migrating old content were deployed, leading to a responsive design and presentation to end users. 

The happy client's new website reflects the forward-thinking nature of the company, providing a fast, pleasant user experience for customers, content authors and administrators.
